CARROLL GARDENS — Court Street just got a little closer to Bourbon Street.

Black Gold, a Carroll Gardens record store, is serving free samples of New Orleans-style cold brew Aug. 31 from 2 to 4 p.m., to celebrate the coffee’s addition to their menu.

The cold brew, created by New Jersey-based coffee maker “Rook Coffee Roasters,” is a mix of Sumatran coffee and chicory, giving the brew its unique Southern flavor.

“It tastes like melted coffee ice-cream,” said Sommer Santoro, 34, co-owner of Black Gold Records, located at 461 Court St.

The 3-year-old record shop and café, which also sells antiques, will be serving the dark-roasted coffee for the first time.

“It’s really taken over the ice coffee world,” Santoro said.

Along with free coffee samples, complementary snacks from The Good Batch and Ovenly will be served and live music performances from jazz band Sneak Thievery will recreate the spirit of Frenchman Street.

A 16-ounce glass of the cold brew will be priced at $4.25 and $4.50 with almond milk.
