NEW YORK CITY — A man died after his girlfriend crashed her car as he clung to its hood, police said.
The driver, Maria Espinosa, was arrested and is expected to be charged with murder Monday.
Matthew Soria, 34, was holding onto the SUV when it slammed into another vehicle near Jamaica Avenue and Crescent Street, in Cypress Hills, flinging him to the ground about 8 a.m. Sunday, according to the NYPD.
Espinosa, 51, was heading west on Jamaica, but made a U-turn at Crescent where she crashed, police said.
Soria suffered head trauma and was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
The two passengers in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated at the same hospital, police said.
Maria Espinosa was arrested and is expected to be charged with murder, manslaughter and assault, cops said.
