EAST ELMHURST — It's time to find your bathing suit and put on your sunblock --the New York City Parks Department will open public pools across the city Thursday at 11 a.m.

There are ten Queens pools to choose from, including the Olympic-sized Astoria Pool and some smaller pools throughout the borough.

Locally, Fisher Pool at 99th Street and 32nd Avenue in East Elmhurst features two spots to cool off. The park has an intermediate pool that fits close to 200 swimmers and a and a smaller wading pool that can accommodate 16 kids, according to the Parks Department.

There are also shaded places to relax after a dip, benches and a large comfort station.

Pools stay open until 7 p.m., but are closed in the mid-afternoon for a cleaning.

Heavy thunderstorms were predicted for Thursday afternoon, but there's some time to enjoy the pool before the rain arrives.

Don't forget to check out the pool rules before heading over with your swimmies (which are prohibited.) And listen to the lifeguards on duty.
