NEW YORK CITY — Long Island Rail Road service was running on its normal schedule Wednesday morning, less than 36 hours after a trail derailment caused massive delays and cancelations across all 11 lines.

The only morning hold up was aboard the Montauk line, which was brought on by equipment trouble unrelated to Monday’s accident, according to the MTA.

Crews worked throughout the night to ease the headaches for morning commuters after a Hempstead-bound train went off the tracks Monday in the East River tunnel, an MTA spokesman said.

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
