PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — A young man was left in critical condition Friday night after two vehicles hit him as he was crossing Flatbush Avenue, police said.

The 24-year-old victim, who was not identified immediately, was first hit at 11:50 p.m. by a dark, southbound SUV as he was walking westbound near the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Empire Boulevard, cops said. The driver fled the scene.

The victim was also struck a second time by a 1996 Nissan, which was driving behind the SUV, but the driver of that sedan stayed on the scene, police said.

The pedestrian was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, and police had no updates on the man's health as of Saturday.

An investigation was ongoing, police said.
