RED HOOK — Ladies and gentlemen — we have a lobster king.
The Red Hook Lobster Pound's food truck was voted No. 1 out of 101 trucks in America this year, according to the Daily Meal, a food and drink website based in New York.
The website looked at about 450 food trucks in more than 40 cities, examining reviews, staff favorites, praises from organizations and publications, both print and online, menus, as well as each truck’s social media presence on Twitter and Facebook, the Daily Meal reported.
The lobster shack on wheels, started by the Red Hook Lobster Pound at 284 Van Brunt St., won the honors after taking No. 11 on last year’s “101 Best Food Trucks List,” according to the website.
The truck, known as "Big Red," serves Maine-style lobster rolls, New England clam chowder, Lobster BLT and even four-cheese mac with juicy lobster bits, across the city.
