15 Train Lines to be Disrupted Over Weekend Due to Subway Maintenance

NEW YORK CITY — Straphangers are advised to plan ahead as subway maintenance is slated to disrupt 15 subway lines across the city this weekend, the MTA said.

Crews will be repairing tracks, refurbishing stations, tending to signals and other electrical equipment that will affect 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, A, C, E, F, G, J, M, N, Q, and R trains between late Friday and early Monday.

Here's how the changes will affect each line:

1Train — The 1 will terminate 168th Street starting about 11:30 Friday due to platform and canopy work on stations between 181st Street and 242nd Street. Regular service will resume Monday at 5 a.m.

2 Train — The 2 will run in two sections starting Saturday about 3:45 a.m. because of track work north of Gun Hill Road. The first section will run from Flatbush Avenue up to East 180th Street. The second will run between 180th Street and 241st Street. Regular service will resume about 10 p.m. Sunday.

4 Train — Uptown 4 trains will run local from Grand Central to 125th Street and then express to Burnside Avenue starting about 11:45 p.m. Friday. Downtown 4 trains will run local from 125th Street to Brooklyn Bridge starting about midnight Friday. Crews will be working to rehabilitate the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station and performing signal maintenance at Grand Central and Union Square. Normal service will resume about 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Train — The 5 will stop running about 3:45 a.m. Saturday while crews work on the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station. Regular service will resume 10 p.m. Sunday.

7 Train — The 7 will skip stations between 33rd Street and 52nd Street along with the 69th Street Station starting about 11:45 p.m. Friday. Crews will be doing trackwork in the stations. Regular service will resume 5 a.m. Monday.

A Train — In Manhattan, downtown A trains will local from Columbus Circle to West 4th Street and then run along the F line to Jay Street-MetroTech starting 11:45 p.m. Friday. In Brooklyn, uptown trains will run express between Euclid Avenue and Broadway Junction starting about 11:15 p.m. Friday. Crews will be surveying tunnels south of Chambers Street in Manhattan and mending track ties at the Euclid Avenue station. Regular service will resume in both directions at 5 a.m. Monday.

C Train — Brooklyn-bound C trains will run along the F line between West 4th Street and Jay Street-MetroTech starting 6:30 a.m. Saturday. At the same time, Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Euclid Avenue to Broadway Junciton. Crews will be surveying tunnels south of Chambers Street in Manhattan and mending track ties at the Euclid Avenue station. Regular service will be restored in both directions 11 p.m. Sunday.

E Train — Downtown E trains will run express between 34th Street-Penn Station and Canal Street starting about 11:45 p.m. Friday. Jamaica-bound trains will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue starting about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Manhattan-bound trains will run express overnight between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza starting Friday. Normal service will resume about 5 a.m. Monday. Crews will be surveying tunnels south of Chambers Street and doing additional work at Forest Hills-71st Avenue Station.

F Train — Jamaica-bound F trains will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue starting about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Crews will be doing additional work at Forest Hills-71st Avenue Station.

G Train — The G will run in two sections between Court Square and Hoyt-Schermerhorn street,s where it will terminate starting 11 p.m. Friday. The first section will run between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand avenues. The second will run from there to Hoyt-Schermerhorn. Regular service will resume about 5 a.m. Monday.

J Train — The J will run in two sections allday Saturday. The first will run between Jamaica Center and Essex Street. The second will then run from Essex to Chambers Street. Crews will be replacing an escalator in the Bowery Station.

M Train — All trains will bypass Central Avenue until late August while crews do rehabilitation work at the station.

N Train — The N will run along the R line in both directions between Canal and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center starting about midnight Friday. In Queens, Manhattan-bound trains will skip stations between 30th and 39th avenues starting about 11:45 p.m. Friday. In Brooklyn, Manhattan-bound trains will run local between 59th Street and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. Crews will be painting stations in Queens and working on the Manhattan Bridge. Regular service will resume about 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Train — Trains will run along the R line between Canal Street and DeKalb Avenue starting midnight Friday. Uptown trains will also stop at 49th Street overnight throughout the weekend. Crews will be painting the 30th Avenue Station and doing work on the Manhattan Bridge.

R Train — Manhattan-bound trains will run express between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza all day Saturday and Sunday. Crews will be doing electrical work at Steinway Street.
