NEW YORK CITY — Greeks everywhere will celebrate Greek Orthodox Easter on Sunday. But on Friday, drivers all over the city can celebrate a holiday from alternate side parking.
Alternate side parking rules are suspended on Friday for Greek Orthodox Good Friday, according to the Department of Transportation.
The parking rules will be suspended for the second day in a row, after Thursday's supension for Orthodox Holy Thursday.
There will be four more days of suspended alternate side parking this month. On May 9, parking rules will be suspended for Solemnity of the Ascension; on May 15 and 16, the rules will be suspended for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot; and on May 27, for Memorial Day.
