Mac 'n Cheese Favorite S'MAC Partners with Think Coffee

MURRAY HILL — Popular mac 'n cheese purveyor S'MAC is bringing in a jolt of java to complement its gooey goodness.

S’MAC, which has two other locations in the East Village, recently partnered with Think Coffee to begin serving coffee, iced coffee, and teas for the first time this week.

“People have been requesting coffee in the early morning,” said Sarita Ekya, who owns the mac 'n cheese chain with her husband, Caesar. “We pride ourselves in the mac 'n cheese we offer, so we wanted take pride in our coffee as well.

“Think Coffee is a neighborhood store…and it seemed like a great fit.”

Think Coffee is available at its East 33rd Street and First Park locations, but hasn’t been incorporated into its East 12th Street store yet because of limited space, Ekya said.

To accommodate the morning commuter crowd, the store also began serving pastries by Tisserie, which are also served at Think, she explained.

In addtion, S'MAC's Murray Hill location recently obtained a beer and wine license to begin serving alcohol last week.

The drink menu includes six beers on tap, including Blue Point Toasted Lager, Alphabet City Brewing Company's Easy Blonde and Oskar Blues' Mama’s Little Yella Pils, Ekya said.

The location also offers hard cider, root beer and three different wines on tap, including a Merlot, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc.

All beers are priced at $6 per glass, and all wines are priced at $5 per glass.

“Wine and beer was always in demand,” said Caesar Ekya. “People were often bringing their own booze in. People wanted their beer and wine, especially beer with their mac 'n cheese.”
