VAN NEST — A straphanger was found with stab wounds at the East 180th Street station in The Bronx Wednesday morning, a fire spokesman said.
The man, whose identity was not immediately released, appeared to have been stabbed inside a train as it approached the station, which serves the 2 and 5 trains near Morris Park Avenue, an FDNY spokesman said.
The victim had stab wounds when he got off the train about 9:15 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. It was unclear where on the body he was stabbed, officials said.
He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in an unknown condition, fire officials said. The spokesman added that the wounds did not appear to be life-threatening.
The circumstances of the stabbing were unknown.
