Fitness Buffs Juggle Their Way to Health in Cobble Hill

COBBLE HILL — Now you can really juggle your time to fit in a workout.

The founder of the juggling-based workout JuggleFit is conducting exercise workshops through April at ArtsCetera on Smith Street, teaching locals to stay in shape in an unorthodox manner.

“It’s an exercise you can do in a tiny space,” said JuggleFit founder and instructor Heather Wolf, who learned how to juggle while touring with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus as a musician,

Wolf said juggling is a perfect activity for busy, space-starved New Yorkers.

She practiced it in a small room on the circus’ train between shows, and said it can easily be done in the comfort of your tiny apartment.

In addition, aside from being good for the body and mind, “it just puts everyone in a good mood,” said Wolf.

Juggling can also be an excellent stress reliever, said Wolf, who said she juggles before she has to speak in front of an audience to calm her nerves.

“It really clears your mind,” she said.

Through the workshops, Wolf explains these benefits to participants and, of course, teaches them how to juggle.

Starting out with juggling scarves and later progressing to balls, the JuggleFit founder said she could teach anyone to juggle in about 15 minutes.

“You forget that you’re exercising,” said Wolf.

JuggleFit will be conducting their workshops in April at ArtsCetera (212 Smith St.) To reserve a spot for the classes, visit this website.
