EAST NEW YORK — A 55-year-old man was treated for a head wound and broken wrist Saturday after two thugs attacked him from behind and then robbed him, cops said.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was walking on Van Siclen Avenue about 3:40 a.m. when two men came up behind him and bashed his head, according to the NYPD.

One of the men kicked him repeatedly as the other rummaged through his pockets and removed a cell phone, cops said.

The victim was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where he was treated for a cut to his head and a broken wrist, police said.

One of the suspects, seen in surveillance footage released by cops, is believed to be 30 years old, 6-feet-tall, and 185 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers' website or by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637), then entering TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
