MORRISANIA —  Bags containing what appear to be female body parts were found strewn on a Bronx neighborhood early Tuesday morning, NYPD sources said.

Police received a 911 call from a dogwalker at about 4:40 a.m. saying they had spotted a plastic bag filled with human body parts that had been left near 660 E. 158th St., according to sources and the NYPD.

Once they arrived, investigators found even more bags strewn about the neighborhood, some sitting atop piles of trash, cops and witnesses said.

One man said he saw a woman's leg wrapped in a plastic bag inside a blue suitcase on top of some recycling.

Other neighbors of the quiet residential area that features two religious schools, a church and community garden, said they were deeply rattled by the scene.

"You could tell it was real. You could see past the ankle, but there was no blood," said Bobby, a superintendent for a building overlooking one of the trash heaps. "It's creepy. It feels like some Freddy Kruger stuff. I don't like it at all, man."

Dozens of uniformed police officers swarmed the area Tuesday morning, cordoning off blocks around where the remains were found and searching for evidence.

Police said they were investigating the incident and that the medical examiner would determine the victim's cause of death.
