NEW YORK CITY — Just hours before more snow is expected to fall overnight, the mercury is rising.
Flurries, and possibly rain, are expected to hit New York Wednesday, even as the temperature reaches about 42 degrees.
But the snow is likely to accumulate as the temperature dips to around 32 degrees and the wind picks up to 10 mph, which could make for a difficult commute during Thursday's morning rush hour.
New Yorkers putting their salt and shovels away after last week's blizzard should expect snowfall from Wednesday evening into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The snowfall Wednesday night could drop up to 3 inches on the city, according to meteorologists.
Over the weekend, 8 inches of snow blanketed the city, marking the first major snowstorm in two years.
The temperature Thursday is expected to jump back up to 45 degrees under sunny skies.
