MASBETH — A Con Edison contractor suffered a flash burn to the face while inspecting a manhole on 59th Street Wednesday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

The victim was working near 57th Road about 9:30 a.m. when the accident occurred, fire officials said.

The worker, who has not been identified, was rushed to the burn center at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, officials said.

The condition of the victim — whose identity and gender were not released — was not immediately known, officials said.

A spokesman for Con Edison said the worker was conscious while being transported to the hospital.
