HARLEM — A person was pulled from the tracks at the 135th Street station Wednesday, triggering service disruptions on the B and C lines, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The unidentified victim was found by cops on the roadbed at the subway station about 1 p.m. The train did not strike the person, officials said.
The person was still being treated on the scene about an hour after emergency responders arrived at the station, according to an FDNY spokesman.
Authorities are still investigating how the person ended up on the southbound tracks, a transit spokeswoman said.
Power to the tracks at the station had to be temporarily cut while officials removed the victim, a move that caused disruptions on the B and C lines.
Service was restored by 3:30 p.m., according to the MTA's website.
The incident comes after two people were killed in December after being shoved onto subway tracks in Manhattan and Queens.
A homeless man allegedly shoved another man onto the tracks at the 49th Street station in Manhattan, where he was struck and killed by an oncoming Q train. Later in the month, a woman allegedly pushed a man onto the tracks at the 40th Street station in Queens. The victim was struck and killed by an oncoming 7 train, and cops are investigating it as a hate crime.
