UPPER WEST SIDE — A woman was struck by a sport utility vehicle and injured near Central Park early Friday, according to witnesses and the FDNY.
The unidentified victim was hit by a silver Nissan Murano near Central Park West and West 102nd Street at 6:47 a.m., a fire spokesman said.
"I saw her on the floor in the middle of the street," said Nicholas Vanegas, 22, a doorman at a nearby building who was walking down the street at the time of the accident. "The car had a dent on the hood. They picked her up and put her on the stretcher."
The woman was taken to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, but her condition was not immediately known, the spokesman said.
The circumstances of the accident remain unclear.
