By Patrick Hedlund | December 11, 2012 9:11am

UPPER WEST SIDE — Put a bird on it!

The hit sketch-comedy show "Portlandia" held a party Monday night to celebrate its third season premiere, with stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein joining "Saturday Night Live" alums at the American Museum of Natural History.

The IFC Channel series, which satirically skewers hipster culture using the city of Portland as its muse, features Armisen and Brownstein playing a host of hilarious characters in the Peadbody Award-winning program.

Joining the fun Monday night were "SNL" stars Andy Samberg, Nasim Pedrad, Jay Pharaoh and Vanessa Bayer, as well as actors Martin Short, Rose Byrne, series guest star Kyle McLachlan and Janeane Garofalo, among others.

The third season of "Portlandia" kicks off on January 4.
