By Joe Parziale | December 4, 2012 4:56pm

PARKCHESTER — A man was struck by a van and critically injured on Westchester Avenue Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The man, who is in his 30s, was hit by a 2010 Ford van driving south on Westchester Avenue near Glover Avenue about 2:10 p.m., police said.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition, the FDNY said.

Vincent Valente, who works nearby at Automatic Heating, said the victim was conscious when emergency responders arrived.

“He was moving and responding to first responders,” Valente said. “I can’t say he looked good, but he was definitely alive.”

A 29-year-old man was driving the van, authorities said.

Police said no criminality was suspected and the investigation was ongoing.
