MIDTOWN — 'Tis the season for awe.
Fifth Avenue's famed holiday window displays are being unveiled — and this year they're not disappointing.
Saks Fifth Avenue wooed hundreds Monday night when it uncovered its over-the-top window decoration, and flicked the switch on its trademark light show that floods its 10-story building's facade.
With the theme of Snowflake Spectacular, the light show dazzled with animation of the dancers, a Yeti and snowflakes through a state-of-the-art projection system.
The Fifth Avenue windows also incorporated the snowflake and Yeti theme.
“The animation was great," said Bernice Campbell, 72, from Park Slope, after the first show. “The lighting was amazing.
“I love the snow. I love the happy message that it brings — it’s the message of a happy season."
Campbell said she had been in the area since 7 a.m. with a friend to see all the famous spots — the Rockefeller Tree, shopping, and a "Dr. Oz" show. Saks unveiled its display in the early evening.
“We didn’t want to miss this," she said.
"We tour the whole area here. I like artsy things.”
Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s unveiled their window displays last week. Bergdorf Goodman's is due to go up on Wednesday.
“I’m excited to check all these windows,” said Linda Smilowitz, who tried to peek through the curtains covering Saks’ windows before the show. “Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Saks always have gorgeous decoration.”
“They put a lot of time and effort into the decoration,” said Smilowitz, an Upper East Side resident working in the clothing industry near 40th Street.
“I love them. It’s like part of the ritual."
