CROWN HEIGHTS — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in tracking down two suspects who robbed and assaulted a man in the basement of a Baptist church Wednesday afternoon.

The suspects, who police said are between 17 and 20 years old, entered through an unlocked door about 2 p.m. and forced the male victim to the basement of the Glover Memorial Baptist Church at 2134 Dean Street, police said.

That's when the robbers attacked the victim and demanded cash, police said. One of the suspects swiped the victim's wallet, money and a bag carrying his laptop and phone.

The suspects fled and still at large.

The NYPD on Thursday released sketches of the suspects. Cops described them as weighing between 130 to 135 pounds.

One of them has a skull tattoo on the right side of his neck, the NYPD added.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
