Lindsay Lohan 'Smelled Like Alcohol' After Crash, Report Says

By Mary Johnson | September 19, 2012 6:07pm

MANHATTAN — The man who was allegedly hit by Lindsay Lohan as she drove her Porsche SUV around a Meatpacking District hotel early Wednesday morning claims the troubled party girl bore all the markings of an intoxicated driver, according to reports.

"She was slurring,” Jose Rodriguez, 34, told the Daily News hours after the incident took place in an alley between the Maritime and Dream Downtown hotels. “She smelled like alcohol real bad.”

Lohan was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday and charged with a hit-and-run accident involving injury, police said.

Police said there was no drinking or drugs involved, and they do not suspect any criminality beyond leaving an accident scene.

But Rodriguez, who works as a chef at the Maritime Hotel, said he believed otherwise.

He told the News that when Lohan emerged from the Porsche Cayenne SUV, “I asked, ‘Why did you do that?’

“She said, ‘You have to get out of the way.’ She told me I have to move.”

“They acted like I was nothing,” Rodriguez continued. “That no one could touch her, because she was rich and powerful.”

In a statement given to the News, Lohan’s spokesman, Steve Honig, called the incident “much ado about nothing.”

“We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue,” he said.
