Sahadi's Closing for a Week to Offer Bigger Store and More Products

COBBLE HILL — Sahadi’s is closing for a week for an expansion that will tie in three storefronts, and offer new installations like a new coffee bar and an extended cheese station.

Sahadi’s, a Middle Eastern grocery located at 187 Atlantic Ave., will close for renovations for the first time in the more than 60 years it's been open, but the owner says he is hoping his customers will appreciate more products and a tidier store.

“We’re not recreating the store,” said Charlie Sahadi, co-owner of the grocery. “We’re expanding and offering a neater and cleaner store with more departments.”

The store will be closing from Sept. 17-23, and will be sporting a new paint job, new lights, and new refrigerators, Sahadi said. The grocery couldn’t offer customers more products, noted the owner, because there wasn’t any room.
