Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Ryan Lochte And More Olympic Medals

By Lisa Marsh | September 8, 2012 10:56am

LINCOLN CENTER — Sanya Richards-Ross is preparing for her next challenge — being an NFL wife.

The two-time winner of Olympic gold for running the 400 meter at the London games is married to Jacksonville Jaguars’ cornerback Aaron Ross and will apparently be the best-dressed football wife, given that she's attend the BCBG, Peter Som and Rebecca Minkoff shows so far.

“I’m being exposed to so much — I love fashion and love beauty — all the trends,” she said at the Rebecca Minkoff show. “To be able to see it up close is a dream for me.” The Olympian heads home later this month after one more stop. “I’m going to the White House,” she said.

Note to Ryan Lochte — get more savvy handlers. The Olympic swimmer was also in the front row at the Rebecca Minkoff show, but instead of being escorted through the back door for a quick departure, his two young handlers dragged him through the crowds to the main entrance of the tents at Lincoln Center, literally stopping every five feet for fan pictures. What’s worse, these young women debated the rest of the day's schedule for all to hear, wondering loudly whether he should wear Armani to an Emporio Armani party (yes) and what he should say in an interview (as little as possible). Security!?!

There’s one accessory U.S. soccer team member Alex Morgan isn’t taking off — her Olympic gold medal. “I really love wearing it,” she said. “It’s only been three weeks since I won this gold medal and I’m going to represent." But, she added, there is that downside: “It’s heavy.” Morgan was on hand at the Mercedes-Benz “Fit for Fashion” event to show fashion people they can be sporty.

“What’s wrong with walking in a fashion show and then putting on your cleats the next day and playing in a game?” she asked, adding that she will be walking in a show later this week —the Just Dance Video Game 4 fashion show at the Style360 Lounge on Tuesday.

“I’ve not been practicing,” she admitted. “I’m wearing high, high heels and I’m nervous but I’m excited.”

Lisa Birnbach doesn’t consider herself preppy. "I do what I do," the author of “The Preppy Handbook,” and “True Prep" admitted at the uber-preppy Social Primer presentation. As for her style, "I wear what I wear. My dress is from the 20th century," she said, in true spendthrift, preppy fashion, wearing a navy sleeveless coat dress.
