Olympians Put Medals to Use at Fashion Week

LINCOLN CENTER — While actresses and models float around parties and the front rows of Fashion Week, it seems that no one gets more attention than those with the biggest bling around their necks.

Olympic gold medalists Ryan Lochte and Sanya Richards-Ross have been spotted glamming it up at various events, using their athletic bodies to fill out high-fashion outfits on the runway and red carpet.

While celebs like Selita Ebanks, Dania Ramirez and Whitney Port made up the leggy front row at the BCBGMAXAZRIA show Thursday, the best legs by far belonged to two-time Olympic gold medalist Richards-Ross. She blended right in at the tents, except for her giant gold accessories, which a lucky few were actually able to hold and wear themselves.

Man-about-town Lochte — last seen at the Calvin Klein store for Fashion’s Night Out — was a no-show at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge and the Tadashi Shoji show, but for good reason.

The swimmer’s older sister, Kristin Lochte-Keeler, gave birth to her second son Wednesday evening, according to the Olympian's mother, Ileana “Ike” Lochte.

The Tadashi Shoji did draws the likes of Angela Simmons, Daisy Fuentes and “Pretty Little Liars” star Troian Bellisario, who graced the front row.

Some Olympians even used their hardware as model bait.

Fencer and Riverdael native Tim Moorehouse pulled three Beijing medals out of his pocket at a party for the film “Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution" at Tiffany & Co., put them around the necks of three Halston-clad models and proceeded to pose for pictures — complete with his foil, mask and the models draped over him.

To the victor go the spoils, indeed.
