BOERUM HILL — Sex educators from a local adult shop will be teaching Brooklynites how to light a fire in the bedroom.
Brooklyn Brainery, located at 515 Court St., is working with the sex shop Babeland to offer a two-hour, interactive Moregasm Workshop that focuses on techniques, sex positions and toys that can be used to spice up the time between the sheets.
“It’s a comprehensive sex-ed class with something for people of all genders, orientations and applicable whether you’re in a relationship or solo,” said Claire Cavanah, Babeland’s co-founder.
The class, which takes place on Sept. 9, is based on a book written by Babeland's two co-founders titled “Moregasm: Babeland’s Guide to Mind-Blowing Sex.”
The workshop covers techniques for oral sex, G-spot stimulation, positions that go beyond the traditional, and tips for incorporating fun toys. The tone of the class is supporting, encouraging and affirming of exploration, Cavanah noted.
“We don’t want to give too much away, but there are several exercises that are interactive, and the teachers do a great performance,” said Cavanah.
All year round, the Brooklyn Brainery partners with local experts and businesses like Babeland to offer a variety of quirky courses, including a class on how to run an effective meeting and one on how to brew amazing iced coffee.
"We're really excited to be working with Babeland," said Jen Messier, co-founder of the Brooklyn Brainery. "I'm always super impressed by the way they make everyone comfortable in classes about what can be an awkward or private subject. They're friendly, funny and educational, and we love working with them."
The Moregasm Workshop will be held at Babeland, located at 462 Bergen St. The cost is $35. The class is reserved for people 18 and up, and it fills up fast, organizers said.
