MURRAY HILL — A man was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle in Murray Hill Tuesday morning, officials and witnesses said.

The accident happened on First Avenue and East 38th Street, around 10:30 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

A witness saw the man being placed on a stretcher.

"He had a neck brace on and wasn't moving," said the witness, 66-year-old Aida Hanna.

Hanna said a man driving a white van stayed on scene until police arrived, and spoke to investigators.

Emergency responders rushed the man to Bellevue Hospital, where the FDNY spokesman said he was in serious condition.

The NYPD did not immediately have any information on whether criminality was suspected.
