Woman's Body Found in Long Island Sound Near Ft. Totten

BAY TERRACE — The body of a woman was found Tuesday morning in the waters near an FDNY water rescue training facility in Fort Totten, Queens, officials said.

Firefighters pulled the woman from Little Neck Bay in the Long Island Sound at 10:14 a.m., officials said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, a spokesman said.

The woman has not been identified, officials said.

Firefighters made the discovery near 10 Fort Totten, where they train for rescues.
