BROWNSVILLE — Cops have released surveillance footage of the car used in a drive-by shooting in Brooklyn Sunday night that injured six people, including a toddler.
Ariyanna Prince, 2, and her father, Michael Prince, 25, were among those caught in the hail of bullets when the occupants of a white Volkswagen Jetta rolled by and fired into a crowd.
Also hit were Kentrell Simpson, 13, Craig White, 23, Kenneth Thomas, 27 and Andrew Void, 17, who police believe was the intended target of the 7 p.m. shooting on Riverdale Avenue and Chester Street.
Void is believed to be a member of the Hoodstars gang, which was involved in a turf war with a rival gang from Brownsville, according to the Brooklyn DA's office.
NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the shooting was the work of a group of men, one of whom was wielding a silver gun, he said.
Kelly said the intended target saw the group coming down the street and fled.
The man carrying the gun then ran and jumped into a white car and gave chase before opening fire.
"A picture is being shown to witnesses," Kelly said, referring to a photo of the white vehicle.
Kelly said the shooting was likely gang-related.
