Yankee Stadium Hosts First-Ever Soccer Match

BRONX — Yankee Stadium ditched homeruns for headers Sunday night as international soccer stars Chelsea F.C. took on Paris Saint-Germain in the first-ever football match at the Bronx ballpark.

Chelsea, of the English Premier League, drew with the French side 1-1 in front of a crowd drenched in the London team's trademark blue.

The crowd reportedly gave Chelsea captain John Terry, recently acquitted of racism charges stemming from remarks he made during a match last year, a standing ovation upon his return to the pitch.
