'Mad Men,' 'Girls' Among NY Shows Nominated for Emmy Awards

LOS ANGELES — New York led the Emmy Awards pack Thursday as "Mad Men," "Girls," "30 Rock," and a city-based season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" all picked up nominations.

"Girls," "30 Rock" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" received nods for Best Comedy Series. "Girls" star and creator Lena Dunham, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin of "30 Rock" and Larry David of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" received Best Actor and Actress nominations.

Late-night comedy staple "Saturday Night Live" also received 14 nominations.

Historic drama "Mad Men" received 17, including  Best Drama Series nomination. Stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss are in the running for Best Actor and Actress.

Mayor Bloomberg said the city was "proud to host these productions."

"Today's Emmy nominations cap off a momentous year for our 'Made in NY' television shows," he said in a statement. "The shows that call New York City home and generate quality jobs for ... 130,000 New Yorkers ... have earned 106 nominations."

Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver said, "We’re thrilled to congratulate all of the ‘Made in NY’ Emmy nominees.

"New York City is home to some of the most creative and talented people in the world; we really are a TV town. We’ll be rooting for you when the winners are announced in September.”
