BROOKLYN — A cyclist died after crashing his bike in Cypress Hills early Thursday, authorities said.
The cause and circumstances of the smashup, reported at Jamaica Avenue and Cypress Hills Street at 1:54 a.m., were unclear and under investigation, the NYPD said.
"It looks like he fell off the bike," a source said.
Police believe the man was traveling at a high rate of speed.
He was transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center with severe head trauma, officials said. He died a short time later, police said.
His age and identity have not been released.
