NEW YORK CITY — The city's more like the baked apple.
An excessive heat warning was issued Wednesday as temperatures from a stifling heat wave neared 100 degrees, according to AccuWeather.
The warning, which is in effect until 9 p.m., comes at the tail end of a three day heat wave with high temperatures rivaled by high humidity.
Temperatures were expected to feel up to 115 degrees with the heat index, AccuWeather reported.
Under the sweltering conditions, the National Weather Service advise people should limit strenuous activities to the morning and evening, wear light weight clothing and drink plenty of fluids.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m., according to AccuWeather.
Temperatures are expected to dip down into the 80s throughout the rest of the week, according to Accuweather.
