Diane Kruger Celebrates Marie Antoinette Premiere at the French Embassy

MIDTOWN —  The luminous Diane Kruger plays ever controversial French Monarch Marie Antoinette in “Farewell My Queen,” which premiered Monday evening at the Museum of Modern Art.

The screening of the film, which looks at the relationship between Marie Antoinette and one of the servants tasked with reading to her during the final days of the French Revolution, was followed by a reception at the French Embassy.

Joining Kruger at the celebrations were the film's director Benoit Jacquot and producer Charles Cohen, her longtime boyfriend Joshua Jackson, actresses Christine Baranski and Kelly Rutherford, who seemed to have simply brought an Hermes bag as her date, recent Tony Awards winner Nina Arianda, actor Joe “Joey Pants” Pantoliano and his daughter Danielle, as well as a handful of fashion designers.
