FOREST HILLS — The Olympics won't be the only reason for children in Forest Hills to get excited about soccer this summer — Super Soccer Stars, a Manhattan-based program, is expanding to the neighborhood.

The classes for children age 2 through fourth grade, beginning July 7, will be held Saturdays at Forest Hills High School at 67-01 110th St., organizers said.

Classes for younger children will last around 40 minutes and will focus on simple activities like running, whereas those for older children will likely stretch to an hour, teaching kids about ball rolling, according to spokesperson Jenna Weinerman.

"We know that there's a huge difference between a child that's 2 and one that's 3," Weinerman said

There are also classes for special needs children, which feature a 2 to 1 child-instructor ratio.

Super Soccer Stars, which operates camps in 250 locations in the Tri-State area , is making its second push into Queens: last year the program expanded to Astoria and Jackson Heights. Classes will also be held in Flushing this year.

The classes, which cost $100 per session, will be broken down into two four-week sessions: one from July 7–28 and another from August 4–25. Parents interested in registering should visit http://www.supersoccerstars.com/enroll/sm_queens2012.asp.
