BROOKLYN — A 64-year-old man was shot and pistol-whipped by an armed attacker at an East New York Laundromat Tuesday, authorities said.
The suspect entered Wesley Laundromat at 402 New Lots Ave. at about 7:05 a.m. brandishing a gun and ordered the victim and another, 75-year-old man to the ground, the NYPD said.
When the victim did not comply, the suspect hit him in the head with the gun and then shot him in the left torso and left shoulder, police said.
The suspect fled the scene without taking any money or property.
The victim was in stable condition at an area hospital Wednesday morning, an NYPD spokeswoman said. It was not clear if the victim was a patron or employee of the Laundromat.
The suspect was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing, police said.
