QUEENS — A man suspect of stabbing the mother of his child to death in Elmhurst Monday night before calmly buying beer in his blood-soaked clothes was arrested this week, authorities said.
Maximiliano Lozada, 34, of Elmhurst, was hit with murder charges Thursday after repeatedly stabbing Luz Paulino, 33, in an apartment at 40-05 Hampton St. just before 9 p.m. Monday, police said.
He then walked to a nearby bodega and bought three cans of beer while still dressed in a blood-drenched shirt, a witness said.
Paulino, who has a 7-year-old son sources said was in the Dominican Republic the night of the alleged murder, was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital with multiple stab wounds and pronounced dead, authorities said.
Lozada is charged with murder and criminal weapons possession, police added.
