WILLIAMSBURG — The Brooklyn Nets are shaking up Brooklyn Bowl with the final round of auditions for their dance team Wednesday.
Performers who were asked back after the open call auditions last month will be kicking, leaping and twirling for 20 spots on the basketball team's dance line at the Wythe Avenue venue at 6 p.m., before the judgment of Rhapsody James, the choreographer for Beyonce's recent show in Atlantic City.
The women's new costumes will also be revealed by David Dalrymple, who designed Madonna's dancers' current outfits as well as the past attire of Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Shakira, and Kim Cattrall. The Emmy-award winning designer Patricia Fields will also be at the showdown.
The dancers chosen will perform at all Brooklyn Nets home games at Prospect Heights' 18,000-seat Barclays Center, which is scheduled to open later this year. They will also be required to represent the team at both local and international events, the team said.
Tickets to the event can be bought on Brooklyn Bowl's website for $10. Proceeds go to the Brooklyn Nets Foundation, which provides scholarships for students in-need.
