QUEENS — Cops are hunting for a cold-blooded killer who allegedly stabbed the 33-year-old mother of his child Monday night in Elmhurst — before calmly buying three beers in his blood-soaked clothes.

The man who police believe repeatedly stabbed Luz Paulino in an apartment at 40-05 Hampton Street just before 9 p.m. coolly left the building and walked into nearby Jazmina Grocery.

That's where the suspect — wearing a blood-drenched short-sleeved, striped shirt — bought three cans of Coors Light, a bodega clerk said.

"He was in the store not even one minute," said Shawqi Algahim, 33, the bodega clerk. "He just dropped the money and went."

The man returned to the store about 15 minutes — his hands bloodied, dripping on the counter — to pick up three adhesive bandages, he added.

"I asked for 30 cents but he just walked off," Algahim said.

The suspect, whom police have not identified, is still in the wind.

Paulino, who has a 7-year-old son who sources said was in the Dominican Republic Monday night, was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital with multiple stab wounds, where she was pronounced dead.

"I feel sorry for her," Algahim said.

Cops recovered a knife at the scene.

A police source said there were no domestic incident reports for the couple at the Hampton Street location. But neighbors said Paulino and the suspect, whom they recognized as a cashier at a nearby chicken restaurant, had heated fights in public.
