NEW YORK — Police are searching for an 86-year-old woman who went missing Wednesday afternoon after she wandered away from her son-in-law at LaGuardia Airport, the NYPD reported.

Isabel Pascual, of Pinehurst Street in Washington Heights, flew with her son-in-law on an American Airlines flight from Miami to LaGuardia, police said. As she started to walk off the plane, her son-in-law, sitting in another part of the aircraft, yelled to her to wait for him in the terminal. Once he arrived in terminal, however, he was unable to find Pascual.

Pascual was last seen walking down a passenger corridor in Terminal D at 12:56 p.m., police reported.

She was described as about 5 feet tall and 100 pounds. She walks with a cane, and was last dressed in an orange knit hat, dark coat, yellow shirt, red pants and brown shoes. She was carrying a black hand bag.

Anyone with information about Pascual's whereabouts are asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477). Members of the public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by sending texts to CRIMES (274637), then entering TIP577.
