BROOKLYN — The gloves fit. Cops are hunting a man who robbed and attempted to rob two Flatbush banks while wearing clear plastic gloves May 21, the NYPD reported.

The first robbery occurred at 9:06 a.m., when the man entered an HSBC branch at 815 Flatbush Ave., but fled before taking any cash.

Seven hours later, the same man walked into a Sovereign Bank branch at 23 Newkirk Plaza, then fled with an undetermined amount of money.

Police declined to state how he obtained the cash, or what might have caused him to flee in the first incident. He was described as about 25 to 35 years old, between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall, and between 240 and 260 pounds. He also had a goatee.

Police ask anyone with any information about the robberies or the suspect to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com. All calls are kept confidential.
