CARROLL GARDENS — Parents and parents-to-be in Carroll Gardens are clamoring to sign up for classes at a "children's enrichment studio" months before it's slated to open.

The banner outside 46 First Place offering art classes, parties and baby yoga was enough to send locals into a phone frenzy of inquiries and requests for places, forcing the owners to speed up the opening of Who's On First? Children's Enrichment Studio.

“We’ve had such a response, we’re putting our foot to the pedal,” said Kathryn Sennis, co-founder of the studio along with her daughter Nicole. “We’ve already gotten 60 to 70 phone calls from people in the neighborhood who are interested in us.”

Sennis said the family-friendly venue will offer a variety of programs for parents and children, including parenting groups for parents-to-be or parents with newborns.

It will also offer playgroups for children and baby yoga.

There are also plans to offer language classes for kids, including lessons in Mandarin, Italian, and French.

Sennis is no stranger to the neighborhood, having lived and worked in Carroll Gardens for nearly 32 years, she said. She works as a psychotherapist, and has an office in the same building the studio is to open in.

The inside of the studio is mostly done, with only the haning of wall easels and a balckboard left to do before the planned September opening, Sennis said.

All that’s left is to hang the wall easels and the blackboard.
