THE BRONX — A Bronx daycare teacher was arrested on child porn charges this week, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.

Joshua Conde, 26, who teaches at an unnamed daycare and after-school center in The Bronx, was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography on Wednesday, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said.

"Joshua Conde’s close proximity to children makes his alleged possession and distribution of child pornography all the more disturbing," Bharara said in a statement.

"As we have said repeatedly, we have zero tolerance for the exploitation of children and we will prosecute and punish those who engage in this conduct."

Authorities seized Conde's computer and found that he had download sexually explicit Internet videos and photos of minors and had distributed them using file-sharing software, prosecutors said.

He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted on the pornography distribution charges and could face up to 70 years in prison if convicted on all the charges, authorities said.
