BRONX — A bomb threat was sent to the elite Bronx High School of Science Wednesday morning, officials said.

A police source said the threat was e-mailed to the West 205th Street school and that cops arrived at the scene about 8 a.m.

A Department of Education spokeswoman said the school was not evacuated as a result of the threat, and the sender has not yet been identified.

Police remained on site several hours later.

The normal school day was not affected, but the police presence nonetheless.

Michael Singh, 17, a senior at Bronx Science, said police were "all over" the school's foreign language department.

“They closed down a few classes," Singh said. "Nobody told me anything. I was just confused.”

Hemil Chauhan, 17, also a senior, said his English teacher told him the cops were doing an investigation in the area.

“A bunch of cop cars were parked out front," Chauhan said. "I just wanted to know why they were here.”
