Robber Steals Car from Livery Driver in Brownsville

BROOKLYN - Police are looking for a man they say assaulted a livery cab driver in Brownsville before stealing the car and then crashing it in East Flatbush.

The 63-year-old livery driver picked up the suspect at Wilmohr Street and Rockaway Parkway aorund 4:15 a.m. on April 7.   While en route to his destination, the suspect demanded money from the driver and then began to assault him, police said.

The driver stopped the car and the suspect threw him out of the vehicle and then drove away, cops said.

The car thief crashed the cab into a parked car on East 43 Street and Linden Boulevard and fled, police said.

The suspect is described 30 to 35, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He has a light complexion with a bald head and beard.
