GRAMERCY — A fire broke out at a church on East 17th Street Friday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to a call of a blaze at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church at 143 E. 17th St., near Irving Place, about 6:09 a.m., the FDNY said.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was brought under control within 10 minutes, officials said.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the blaze, and no one appeared to be inside the property at the time.
