MANHATTAN — What’s more patriotic than a dirt biker popping wheelies in the Lincoln Tunnel?
Nothing, according to TV funnyman Stephen Colbert, who personally captured video of the daring act on his iPhone and aired it in a segment on “The Colbert Report” Thursday night.
The video shows biker balancing on a single wheel and swerving between lanes before turning to give Colbert a thumbs-up.
“This guy’s a total badass. I mean, you can get a ticket for changing lanes in the Lincoln Tunnel,” Colbert said in the segment. “Clearly America is back, ladies and gentleman.”
Colbert also joked that commuting through the Lincoln Tunnel — which connects Manhattan to New Jersey under the Hudson River and spits drivers out on West 38th Street — is like “taking 250,000 jelly beans and pouring them through a single drinking straw, where all the jelly beans are pissed because they're late for work.”
