Toddler Chasing Ice Cream Truck Hit by Car and Critically Injured

BRONX — A toddler was struck and critically injured by a car in Parkchester Tuesday afternoon while chasing an ice cream truck, according to authorities and reports.

The accident unfolded on Taylor Avenue, near Archer Street, around 4:40 p.m.

Cops said a 2-year-old boy was struck by a car driven by a 73-year-old woman, who stayed at the scene of the accident.

According to WCBS/Channel 2, the boy was walking with his cousin and chased after an ice cream truck when he was hit by the car.

He was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition.

No criminality was suspected, police said.
