MANHATTAN — An NYPD school safety agent was arrested and charged with assaulting his girlfriend and locking her in a bathroom — all in front of her child, police said.

Julio Quintana, 35, was arrested Monday about 9:30 p.m. for beating his unidentified girlfriend at her apartment and locking her in the bathroom, police said. The assault happened in front of the victim's child, cops said.

The child, whose age and gender were not revealed, did not appear to be harmed, police said.

Quintana was charged with unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. He was suspended from duty, police said.

Police would not say which precinct Quintana was assigned to, except to say that it was in Midtown Manhattan.
