MANHATTAN — Whoops.

Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty made a bold prediction that New York will knock out the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI for the team's second big game win over New England in four years — but later stepped back from the mark.

"Giants 28, New England 17," Canty wrote on his Twitter account about five hours before the 6:30 p.m. kickoff Sunday in Indianapolis, according to the Associated Press.

But just before game time, the tweet disappeared.

The move came hours after an NFL web page accidentally appeared touting the Giants as Super Bowl champions, more than 24 hours before kickoff.

The league said Saturday night that the page was "inadvertently available for a brief period of time," according to ESPN.

The Giants are vying for their second Super Bowl ring against the Patriots since 2008.
